how do I reconnect my site to wordpress?
-
Due to technical issues, I had to temporarily disconnect JetPack (for 5 minutes). I’d like to reconnect my site into WordPress (customized site through bluehost) and reactivate JetPack.
Having said, I’ve spent about 3 hours pushing every button, trying to map domains, reconnect domains, and more. All I get is new sites with: existingdomaindotcom.wordpress.com. I don’t want a new website, I just want to use JetPack and Akismet again. I keep reading HELP articles in the forum, but the links they say to follow are old – bringing me into parts of WordPress that either don’t exist or do something completely different.
I’m sure there is a simple option to reconnect my site (after it has been connected for over 3 years now). But, since there is no one to call and no self-help article that is useful, I’ll ask the forum for help.
This has been a complete waste of my time. I’ve used this service for over 3 years now. A simple technical reboot with my domain provider to break connection for 5 minutes and . . . . . poof . . . . . . now it’s bloody impossible to keep using this damn service?
I have to create a new series of websites (.inc,.com,.info,.org) and then transfer content into wordpress, and then map them, and then pay a monthly charge, and then redirect all of my DNS servers to go through wordpress.com, and then point my DNS servers back to my customized site name . . . . . just to go back to my official wordpress.org site just to use Jetpack?
Double content, two mirror sites, and 3 different DNS directives just to utilize JetPack to gain site stats?
Seriously?

Hi @emilybrooks,
Can you please share the domain that you are needing help with?
