How do I recover a blog address that I accidentally deleted?
-
I deleted an old blog (content, blog address, username, everything) and attempted to set up a new blog with a new address and a new username. Somewhere along the process of changing everything I must have accidentally deleted my NEW blog and now it’s telling me that the address is no longer available because “the author deleted the site.” That author was me, and it was a total accident and I wish to reclaim that address. Is this possible?

That’s not possible. You cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and it must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click. Once the verification link for deletion is clicked the blog URL is forever gone, gone, gone.

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
