How do I recover lost content that was published but deleted in an update

I published a post on my “Being Deployed” page. I later went back and tried to add some photos and when I hit publish it deleted everything except the title. I tried to pull an older version from “autosave” but it was blank as well. I could only find a draft from 26 September that was half completed. The name of the post was “Life on Camp Lemonnier.” If you can help recover the info I would appreciate it. I also tried to publish the half completed text and add pictures and the same thing happened. Not sure if it is user error or what.

If you created that post using the “Add New” on the main page for wordpress.com here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ then it may be lost and may not be recoverable.
If you created the post in your dashboard here http://jthambright.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php/ then you may be able to recover an earlier post revision.
Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post.

Advice:
1.Create posts and pages on your own blog’s dashboard.2. When you start a new post, add the title, set it to private and then publish it. When you are done with the post edit it to update it and set it back to publish.
3. The other choice is to get and use an offline blog client such as Windows Live Writer (Windows) or Ecto (Mac) and then everything is saved on your computer and when you are done with the post, you actually publish it directly from the blog client software. Pages and Posts are not the same. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/ in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.
The most common misunderstanding is bloggers creating static Pages that do not automatically update and thinking that they will when they cannot and will not. Only dynamic pages (Archives, Categories, Tags) created by the software will automatically update. We organize our blogs by assigning Categories and/or Tags to Posts (not pages).
1. Delete any static pages you created to function as “subjects” or “topics” pages.
2. Assign Categories and/or Tags to your Posts (not pages).
