How do I recover my account after I've lost my authentication device?
-
I had lost access to my primary account a couple years ago. I had lost my device that had both my authenticator app and backup codes on it. I’m now trying to recover the account so that I can use JetPack through a separately hosted WordPress site and use gravatar icons on my account. I can’t find any way to contact support without the backup codes.
Is there any way I can prove ownership of the account so I can recover it? I still have access to the email that is associated with the account.

Hi @2ndhdgenius, could you use these steps to reach out to the account recovery team?
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-formThey will need to evaluate your case.
Alternatively, you could use this account for connecting Jetpack.

Hey @stagg-quasir, I had checked that link before but I also don’t have any of my old emails. The old emails were deleted from my email account so I don’t have the setup link or activation codes. Since I don’t have my old phone I can’t use the SMS method either and that phone had all of my backup codes as well.
I still have access to the email that I had made the account with. Is there any way that I would be able to prove the ownership of my account with that email or something else?
I’ll definitely use this account for jetpack if I can’t recover my original. My original account was made with my primary email so I’d really like to recover it so I can use gravatar as well.

Hi there,
sI do not see any sites under your @2ndhdgenius WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.
Is it possible you created your site under a different login with us or are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?
Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

This is my second account. My first was under a different email. I believe that I had a site under my first account but if cannot remember the site address or user name I can PM you the email address for the original account.

Thanks, that info helps.

Since you mention you have access to the email address that other account is under, please email us at this address, using your gmail email address: passwordhelp@wordpress.com
From there our account recovery team should be able to help, thanks!
