How do I recover the admin account?

  Hi Everyone,

  So I’m a digital content creater and I’m just assigned a new site to post stuff. The owner of the site paid a questionable developer to build the site, and now when I log in to the admin account udner /wp-admin, none of the edit tools are showing up and I can just see the front end of the site, seems as someone who didn’t log in. The developer is now disappeared. Anyway I can recover the actual admin account and make changes?
