How do I redirect my subdomain to my subdomain page?
-
I have a subdomain page https://subscribe.saracreasy.com/freestory that I created in Mailerlite, then added the DNS (CNAME) record to WordPress.
But if someone types only https://subscribe.saracreasy.com, they get an error page. How do I make this URL redirect to https://subscribe.saracreasy.com/freestory – or otherwise fix it?
(Mailerlite did not allow me to use https://subscribe.saracreasy.com – I had to add the page name “/freestory”.)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.
You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, using our migration plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/ and the site would need to be on the business plan.
As it stands now, we cannot help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help. Thanks!

Hi there!
Can you share the link to the WordPress.com site you’re referring to so that we can double-check?
Thanks!

Won’t let me edit but when I typed that link, it added a subdomain in the hyperlink for some reason. The website is saracreasy . com

Hello!
Thank you for clarifying.
The issue here is the following — since you’ve pointed your subdomain
subscribe.saracreasy.comto Mailerlite via the CNAME record, you cannot have it show your WordPress.com site if somebody opens it without appending the/freestory.It will always open the Mailerlite page. It’s simply how the domains work.
💡 I suggest asking Mailerlite Support if it’s possible to set a redirect for
subscribe.saracreasy.comto redirect to your domain, https://saracreasy.com.If they can’t help with setting a redirection, then, unfortunately, you will have to use it as-is.
