How do i reduce the size of the content width in Edin theme?

  Hi.
  I would like to reduce the size of the width of the site using an Edin theme so I can display more of the background image. Please help!

  Hi there, the site you reference is using Skeptical and I don’t see any other sites associated with your username. Can we have a link to the site you are talking about? It would be much easier if we could see your site.

  That said, when you apply a custom background on Edin, the overall width of the #page div is reduced to 1230px. You can add the following and then adjust the 1230 value as desired.

  .has-custom-background #page {
      width: 1230px;
  }

  Hi, i tried switching to the Edin theme but since I wasn’t getting it right with the background image, I decided to stick to my current theme till I sort it out.

  However, I just tried out the code but it doesn’t seem to be reflecting in Preview. I mean I can’t see the background image anymore. It used to be visible at the corner but now it’s gone

  Try collapsing the left customizer pane, which is a button at the lower left beside the viewport preview buttons. Also, did you change the 1230px value to something narrower, such as 800px?

  Alright it worked. I reduced the px value to 700 and it looks pretty good too me. Except that my contact menu now seems to be outside the border and extending into the sidebar. How do I bring it down to another column so it would be centralized below the other menus?

  Hi, I’d have to see the site in order to figure out the other issue. I’m not seeing that on my test site with Edin active. I’m sure there is a fix for it though. Let me know if you switch to it and I’d be more than happy to get that issue resolved for you.

  I actually decided not to go with Edin anymore. It wasn’t working out for me. I now need help with reducing the content width for the Sela theme. That is currently activated on my blog. So you can look at it and give me the code please

  @vivavocemea, since we will not be working with Sela, can I ask you to start a new thread in the CSS forum. I’ll get the code for you and watch for your new post. This way it won’t confuse others that happen to find this thread in the future and think we are talking about Edin. Many thanks in advance.
