How do I remove a second administrator from my account?

    I have two administrators on my account, me and the person who was helping me with my blog for a while. I want to remove her as administrator, but wordpress won’t let me do anything with her user – I can’t delete the user and I can’t turn her into a different kind of user. I get the message “You can’t edit that user” and “you don’t have permission to remove that user” when I try.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Did the other Admin register the blog?

    If so you can’t remove them – Owners can’t be removed – they need to transfer the blog to another account – if they do a straight transfer they will automatically be removed

    Thank you – the other person registered it under my account … does that make a difference? It’s under my account, not theirs, so I can’t transfer it – I have nowhere to transfter it to, since it’s already under my account. Does that make sense? Or is there another nuance to accounts that I’m not getting? Thanks!

    @lesherjennifer – if it was registered under your account (i.e. your user name and they logged in as you) then you should be able to delete them – if the other person registered the blog then added you as the Admin – they still own it unless they transferred it to you –

    I have flagged this for the staff to help – they can look at the users and the rolls for a blog and account – I can’t

    @lesherjennifer – the other administrator on the account created your site and is still listed as the owner of the site. They will need to follow the steps listed here to transfer ownership of the site to you:

    Once they transfer the site to you, you can then delete them as an administrator if they’re still listed after the transfer. There’s nothing we can do to transfer ownership – the site owner must do it.
