How do I remove a self-hosted site from my WordPress.com dashbaord?
-
I have a self-hosted site I would like to remove from my WordPress.com dashbaord but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do so. I find that a little annoying, am I just missing something?
The site is imago.vcnickels.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You’re not missing something. At the moment it’s not possible for us to do that ourselves. I’ve tagged this for staff to do it for you. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting.

I think that the fact there is no tool available to allow users to manage removal of their sites is a significant issue.
This has been an problem for years with WordPress.com and while the staff/admins are quick to act on requests it does make me wonder why you won’t let us handle it ourselves.

In case you did not click through and read this:The tool which allowed our end users to remove Jetpack-connected sites didn’t make it in to the updated version of My Sites quite yet. It’s supposed to be integrated in future versions so we don’t have to do this back and forth, but for the time being at least we can take care of it for you! https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/remove-nonexistent-site-from-my-sites?replies=11#post-2136992

No, I did. I’ve used WordPress in both self-hosted and WordPress.com varieties since about WordPress 2.something.
I just think it’s odd that they know that this is something people do quite often and yet they don’t allow you to do it yourself, at least currently. The post makes mention that there has been a tool but I don’t recall ever having seen it.
It’s just odd… and very annoying.

I also want to point out we lost this ability only late last year. Before that users could do it themselves. It did not always work, requiring staff to step in, but the option was there.

It was one of those cases where you had to know where to look, if I recall ;-)

As timethief and kokkieh have mentioned, there was a tool for this.
It’s an easy enough issue to solve by posting here in the forums, and worst case scenario, you have a couple of extra site links in your list. Because there’s no adverse effects to this, reimplementing this tool isn’t a top priority right now.
