How do I remove an email address from my account

    I made a site for my girlfriend. PawesomePetCare and added content. But, wanted to transfer it to her. I did that and she got an email. She clicks the link and it asks her to log in to wordpress. But she doesn’t have a wordpress account. So she tries to set one up without starting a site and types in her email address which is (email visible only to moderators and staff) and the response is that it already exists. She clicks forgot password and asks for the code to be sent via SMS. I get the SMS text with the code on my phone so obviously that email address is associated with my account somehow , but I don’t see that email anywhere in my account settings. So, what do we do? She needs her own log in with her own email address and needs to manage the site that I transferred to her. We cannot figure this out. Thanks!

    Hi there!

    To check the email associated with your account, you can go to https://wordpress.com/me/account. The email address will be listed there. If she is getting a message that the email address already is associated with an account that you might have setup for her awhile ago. Since you are getting the SMS code when she tries to reset the password, that would indicate that you entered in your information when you set up this account for her. Once she accesses the account, she can remove your number by going to https://wordpress.com/me and clicking on security.

    Her email address is not listed in my account settings. I cannot log in with her email address (it says log in with your username not your email address) and I cannot start another account with her email address because it says it is already in use. So, I am completely stuck – still.

    That email is in use for a WordPress.com account.
