How do I remove blank lines between lines of text?

This is a formatting question: WordPress interprets every ‘carriage return’ as a new paragraph and inserts a blank line. Sometimes I am writing a list or a poem for which I do not want a blank line added after I hit Enter (‘carriage return’ in olden days). Here is an example of my problem with the list at the top of this blog post: http://electroplague.com/2014/04/19/film-where-can-we-live/

On theme Twenty-Ten I can work around this by formatting such text as “Address”, which removes the blank lines automatically. But theme Twenty-Twelve (shown above on my electroplague site) does not remove blank line when I use the “address” format.

    Thanks for your help. :)

    Hi there Kim!

My suggest in this case is to open FILM:Where Can We Live? in your Post Editor.

    Highlight and cut the text:

    Length: 42 minutes
    Year: 2011
    Language: Swedish with English subtitles
    Producer/Director: Hélène Aastrup-Samuels
    Company: Eira Film
Contact: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Click on the Visual Tab. Paste the text you just cut into the Visual editor under the coding/text for “Where Can We Live?” Remove the carriage returns. Then click on your Text editor again, and format (ie. bold, italicize) whatever you’d like.

To illustrate what I just explained, I create a duplicate Draft post for you to see:

Take a look at it in your browser, and in your Visual/Text editors. Let me know if you have any questions about this at all!

I hope this helps! Best wishes to you.

Thanks, Robyn! I see what you mean with the draft you made for me. That works. :)
