How do I remove dates from the URL in permalinks?

When I used to make apost, it would have a permalink of the form:
http://maynardpress.wordpress.com/one-day-of-spam-or-six-space-shuttles/
and now it comes out as:
How do I get back the old-style URL? It is KILLING my SEO.
All the advice online is way out of date,

Uh, no.
Permalinks of the first form are PAGE permalinks. Those of the second are POST permalinks. Posts have vastly more SEO than pages do. If you really want to get rid of the date, however, you can; just make only pages from now on.

Huh. Well, I just checked some old posts, and I guess you’re right – I just never noticed that before. Now, I feel stupid. LOL.

If you do the Page route you are limited to around 80 Pages – another reason to use Posts –
