how do I remove facebook icon in my header area?
-
I’m not sure how, but when my blog was set up, (I had someone else helping me, but they are no longer avail) they set up a facebook icon sort of tucked in the space between the page titles and header. I’d like to remove that if possible, but not remove the facebook stuff in my sidebar.

I should clarify, that facebook icon in the header is a live link to facebook. If you hover over it, it moves up a bit and you can click it to go to my facebook page.

hmmm… so I’m in the theme options and I don’t see anything that looks obvious to me to remove that little fb icon in my header… do you have a little more info to guide me? thank you

so, back in appearance… theme options… in the field for social icons, if I leave the fb box blank, is that just for the header icon? I mean it won’t disrupt automatic posts going out to my fb page, nor will it remove my fb following stuff in my sidebar widgets?

Correct, that’s what you need to do to remove the icon.

Correct, those are controlled via Settings -> Sharing and Appearance -> Widgets in your blog’s Dashboard.
