How do I remove files that have been identified as malicious/infected files?

  • Unknown's avatar

I received this message from my hosting company- I have re-scanned your account and could see that removed most of the malicious/infected files but still there are 104 malicious or infected files are present. I have included the list of files at the end of this email. Please remove these scripts or replace them with clean copies and reply back to us so that we can reactivate your account.

The challenge is that I can’t access the admin section of my site to remove, replace or update. When I try to access the dashboard it takes me back to my hosting account that says my site is down.
Here is just a partial list of the infected files (there’s 104) I need to fix this but not sure what the next step is.
    /public_html/WORDPRESS/xmlrpc.php
    /public_html/WORDPRESS/test_framework.php
    /public_html/WORDPRESS/wp-login.php

Hi there! You’ll need to reply to that email from your hosting company because they’re the ones who have access to your site.
