How do I remove followers from my private blog?
-
Hi – I’d like to remove followers from my private blog but can’t seem to find a way to do that. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/
You cannot remove followers but Staff can email support @ wordpress.com (without the spaces required to make the email address display here in this thread) and provide the usernames or email addresses you want removed.

Thanks. How do I get the followers’ details to a member of Staff? I’d prefer not to post them on here.
The blog has always been a private blog. Not sure that makes a difference, but just fyi.
Thanks.

You email the support at
support @ wordpress.com
You can delete them as users entirely by going to the dashboard Users page and removing them there.

If the site has always been marked as Private, you can remove people you have allowed to view your site without Staff assistance.
Go to Dashboard>Settings>Reading>Privacy and there you will see a list of your current invited viewers. You click the “remove user” button to remove them.

Thanks. The thing is that they all used to be Authors, and I’ve removed them as Authors or Readers, but they still remain as Followers when I look in Site Stats.
I’ve emailed Support, so I’m hoping they’ll be able to remove them.
I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Then, not followers or viewers, but contributors. It helps to be accurate when asking for assistance. :)
If you’ve removed them as authors and viewers, then what appears in the site stats no longer should be relevant, to the best of my knowledge. It would be entirely appropriate for the Stats/Blog Followers to be updated accordingly.
Yes, agreed. Emailing staff is your best solution. Best wishes.
