How do I remove 'leave a reply' off of my pages and blogs?

  I am trying to figure out how to remove ‘leave a reply’ off of my pages and set up my wordpress as a website. When I get my WP site set up I will add my domain and use this as a webpage and not a blog. So far the forums I am reading are sending me on a goose chase. I need to figure out how to remove some code from my theme to get this out of there. Please help.
