How do I remove myself from a network of blogs
-
I have a website that is part of a network involving three other wordpress blogs/sites all of which link to one another. I am looking to immediately sever the relationship that I currently have with this network and its IT administrator.
I am *an* administrator but not the main one. At the moment the administrator is unreachable and the sooner this is solved the better.
As the domain name belongs to and was purchased by me, I was wondering/hoping, is there was a way to remove myself from this network without waiting around for him. I am even prepared to lose 1) all the design that the administrator put into the site and 2) all the material currently on the site. I just want the name and control of the blog so that I can rebuild it and I want to be out from under this umbrella.
Is there a way to change my password to prevent the administrator from making any changes and simply make my site inaccessible to him.
I fully admit I am not very technical at all so I do hope this question made sense.
Thank you.

If you want to leave a blog you have been made an official user of by way of invitation (like the 3 staff blog for classes you listed above ) then you can use the leave a blog option. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#leave-a-blog
You will, of course, have to be logged in under the exact same username account that was added to the blog as a user https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

What I posted above applies only to blogs hosted by WordPress.COM and you did not provide URLs.
In the event you are not referring to a blog hosted by WordPress.COM we cannot help you here at all.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Hi timethief,
Thanks for your reply.
I think I may have phrased my question poorly. I don’t want to leave the blog (which is a WordPress blog, by the way), I want to leave the network and take my blog and .com address with me. I’m even happy to remain on WordPress. But I no longer wish to have it associated with the other blogs or that site administrator.
The link you inserted mentions something about: Transferring a blog.
I believe that’s what I want to have happen. https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
Can I do this *without* being the main administrator of the site? The link doesn’t actually make that clear and I’m mobile at the moment so I’m unable to check on my phone.
Thank you again for your quick reply. I really do appreciate your help.

Which WordPress?
What is the exact URL of that site?

No, you cannot transfer any site that you did not register. The email address registered with any WordPress.com username account is your unique identifier.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and their associated email address.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/The blog’s owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them, or to transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account, or to use the lost password link, or the account recovery form, or to delete site content, or to delete the site itself.
