How do I remove page links from header menu?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve added pages to my best-ever blog site which contain reviews for my best-ever books blog page. How do I prevent the links from these pages from being added to my Header menu? (I do want to keep the About link there).
I read an earlier post on this topic, but was not able to understand the suggested fix.
    Thanks,
    Dom

We cannot help your with the site linked to your username as it’s not a free hosted WordPress.com blog. You will have to post to http://wordpress.ORG/support to get help with that site. WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences

If it’s not the site in question then please post an active link starting with http:// to the free hosted WordPress.com blog you need help with and link it to your WordPress.com username instead.

I don’t know what you mean when you say “…the site linked to your username…”

If my username is not linked to my wordpress.com blogs, how do I link to them?

Or are you saying I need to go to wordpress.org/support for questions regarding my http://dombestlist.wordpress.com/ site?

Linking your wordpress.COM blog to your wordpress.COM username > Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

If your create a custom menu then you can choose to include only the pages, categories and custom links you want to be displayed in it. Staff have provided help for those who want to structure their blog like a website. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

    What’s critical is:
    (1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
    (2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.

A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and custom links in your custom menu as well. How to create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

Thank you, timethief. I think I have successfully revised my header menu for my best-ever blog. And updated my username and profile settings to contain my websites.
