How do I remove robots.txt description?
-
When you type the URL of my blog into Google, this message appears:
“A description for this result is not available because of this site’s robots.txt – learn more.”
I can see that many others have had this problem. The advice seems to be to turn privacy settings on and off again. Done that.
Other advice is to post and wait 4-6 weeks.
I understand that seo can take a while, but for a paid subscription service, I feel I should be able to have my sight’s description appear, not the negative robots.txt message that is showing. Please advise.
Thanks

Hi there,
Sadly on our end those are the two bits of advice that I would give, since search engines and what they show on their sites is entirely outside of our control. There IS a bit more that you can do however.
Google has a program called Google Webmaster Tools which provides a full suite of tools to the owners of websites. It will allow you to verify your site to them and to ensure that it is in the best possible shape to be found by their robots. You can go here to find it:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/
Create an account there and make sure that you’ve done all that you can.
