How do I remove side column on a post landing page?

Hi, this is probably simple but having a hard time figuring it out. I am an author and am using the wordpress site as my primary webpage, so I have a static front page and my blog is one of the side pages (labeled ”blog,” easily enough…). So anyhow, I redirected my posts to automatically show up on the ”blog” page. I would like to remove the side column from the blog (I really only want the side columns on my home page), and on all my other side pages I have been able to remove the side column manually. But even though I have clicked the same settings for the ”blog” page, I still have the side column. I’m guessing this is because the posts settings are overriding the page settings?

All that to say, how can I remove the side columns from the ”blog” page on my site? Also, is the solution something I will have to do every time I put a new post up?

    Thanks!

Yep, you’re correct here. When setting a page to be the posts page it uses a different template than the page default. For your current theme it pulls the blog template which includes a sidebar.

If you’re familiar with CSS you could use some page-specific CSS to hide the sidebar. This would require a custom CSS upgrade.
