how do I remove the column from the right hand side of my homepage using hemingway theme?

I want to eventually just post photos there, and want to get rid of the template stuff.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When you mean template, do you mean widgets? You can remove widgets by going to Appearance > Widgets in your Dashboard.
If that’s not what you mean, can you please explain what you mean?

ve tried that widget removal - several times - but no luck. Heres another weird thing, once I started typing text into my page, I lost the ability to write the question mark, it comes up asÉ. Same with the apostrophe, it comes up as looking like a backward one. -
It looks like your widgets are still there. Have you tried clicking the Delete button when you open up the widgets as seen here:
If you can’t do it, please let me know the widgets you want to delete (please name each one) and I can remove them for you.
Also, when it comes to your keyboard that is most likely not a WordPress.com issue. It looks like your keyboard maybe set to another language. Considering the locations of that é, maybe French Canadian? Please check you keyboard language settings. If this issue is solely happening on WordPress.com let me know.
