How do I remove the featured image from a blog post but keep thumbnail

  Hi, I want to remove the featured image on my individual blog post as it is too messy. But I want to keep the featured thumbnail size images for the links to my blog post on the main website page and also on the ‘blog’ page. How do I do this? I saw some sites saying to add plugins but I am using wordpress.com not wordpress.org.
