How do I remove the header from the attachment pages opened via a gallery?

I don’t have the pages in question published yet. If my explanation isn’t clear enough, I can publish my drafts for an example. (Let me know.)
When I insert a gallery into a page and choose to have it open as an attachment page, the attachment page has my custom header at the top (with randomly rotating images) and in order to see the actual photos from the gallery, the user must scroll down for each picture since the header takes up a good 3-4 inches of vertical space. Any suggestions? Or is this not possible w/o an upgrade? My theme is Twenty Ten. Thank you!

Unfortunately, users are unable to specify on which pages they want a header to appear or not appear.
