How do I remove the "Leave a Reply" box?

I need to know if it’s possible to remove the “leave a reply” box using the wordpress online editor with the Modularity Lite theme. I’ve seen many posts about using the desktop wordpress software to do it, but I just wanted to do it through the online editor.

Have you been looking here: http://support.wordpress.com/ ? It’s easy: on your Settings->Discussion page, you just disable comments. Now, to remove it for existing posts and pages you have to edit them individually and in the discussion settings on the Edit page, dis-allow comments. I believe it’s in the sidebar on the right hand side of the page.

You must be logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog in question.
All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/Any existing posts or pages will need to have comments disabled manually via editing. You can use the bulk edit feature in the all posts and all pages screen to make that quicker.

I’ve checked out all these options timethief, but it still doesn’t resolve my issue. I’ve removed all discussion sections for the pages, and unclicked all necessary area that should be related to a discussion thread, but it still doesn’t seem to remove the “Leave a reply” box at the bottom of the pages. Any other suggestions? The other forum posts I looked at talked about editing certain pages if I was using the downloadable wordpress editor, but I’m just using the online version as I’m doing this for a friend and don’t want to install all the extras on my computer.
