How do I remove the line above 'Share this'? Swell theme
-
I’d like to remove the line above the sharing link ‘share this’ – which I’m using under my blog articles. https://palmerowen.wordpress.com/2015/02/22/our-latest-responsive-wordpress-website-is-live/
I’ve tried altering the following style but failed!
style div.sharedaddy h3.sd-title style
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
You were close! Try this:
body.highlander-light h3.sd-title:before { border: none;}
The Pseudo-element ::before got you. Here’s some reading on that if you’re interested:

Cheers!

Hi there,
Thank you – it worked! I had a quick scan of page re the pseudo-element. I’m afraid, it was a bit beyond me! Thanks for trying to get me to understand though. If I had more time, I’d look into it more.

Hi again,
Sorry to bother you – but think I have found another one of those Pseudo-element things!
I’m trying to alter the width of my footer so its 1000px and can’t do it. Then spotted another ::before in the code – so wonder if that’s why I can’t see the actual style to alter. Its before the class secondary .
If you can help that would be great. I’ll also mail the general forum to see if anyone else can help too. So not to worry if you haven’t time or inclination!

Hi,
You should be able to use your inspector to find out more about that particular ::before element. Be careful changing the width of your footer in case it breaks the responsiveness of your design.
Cheers!

Hi,
I’ve fixed this already thanks – with a bit of help though. I do use the inspector but can only fix a certain amount with my basic level of css.
Re the footer, I don’t want to alter the whole footer block from 100% as such. I want to make the content that sits within the footer a fixed width. That should be ok responsiveness-wise shouldn’t it?

Hi Laura,
You might consider using percentages for a content block within the footer. Here’s some info on media queries. If you scroll down to More Examples, you’ll see how percentages can be used.

Cheers!
