How do I removed embedded videos from the Facebook thumbnail?

Hi, I recently upgraded to the ‘premium’ package of Wordress.com. As part of this I am embedding videos straight to my page. However, when I do that and share the post to Facebook the video shows up as the thumbnail and plays within Facebook. I don’t want it to play in Facebook, as users don’t realize there is a whole post attached to it. If the thumbnail is simply an image, clicking it sends users straight to my website.

So, my question is. How do I set a Facebook thumbnail when hosting through wordpress.com that IS NOT a video?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

When you have videos embedded in your blog posts, Facebook automatically grabs those videos and embeds them with your Facebook update. There isn’t a way to disable this feature at this time.

One way around this would be to publish the post without the video. You could include an image instead, if you want an image to be displayed on Facebook with your post. Then, after sharing the post on Facebook, you could add the video back into the post.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’ve used the work around you’ve suggested and it will work for now, but it would be great to see a little better integration between WordPress and Facebook in the future.

    Thanks Again.
