How do I remover followers from my site?

How do I remove a follower from my blog? Sometimes I have a follower who asks to “unsubscribe” from following. usually slightly hostile because they say they never wanted to follow in the first place. I certainly don’t sign anyone up…don’t even know how to. I can’t help them “unsubscribe” because I can’t find it in any of the FAQ or troubleshooting. Can you help me help them. I’m just a teacher/scientist who wants to educate people who are interested…not a single other soul.

Hi there,
You cannot remove someone from being a follower, but I can if you would like to provide their WordPress.com username or their email address.
They also can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email which they’ve been sent. They also can visit your page again and where they once pressed the “Follow” button, it will now say “Unfollow.” They just have to click that and they will no longer be following your blog.

Thank you for your quick response. I figured this must be the case.
It’s interesting how people don’t read their emails and are reactive, instead…not even seeing that there are Unfollow options.
