How do I reopen (my own) closed topic in the forums
-
I have a topic on this forum (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/links-being-changed-to-include-i0wpcom-at-the-front) that I opened. Someone has closed it for new replies without my consent. I want to add an update for others who have suffered the same issue but it won’t let me.
How do I achieve reopening this topic so I can add a helpful update?

Hi there,
I believe threads are auto-closed at the end of the month. You can continue here if you feel you wish to do so. -
It would be more useful to be able to continue where the post details are since that’s where people land up when they search. If there are auto-closed, is there no way to reopen again? How does auto-close know you are done with it? Most problems are not solved in a month I’d have thought.
Or are you suggesting I just replicate the contents in a new post and start again in essence?

What I see in that other thread is an exchange that lacks any Staff input. That is why I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Oh, I didn’t realise the guy replying to me wasn’t staff :-) I assumed the forum was for getting staff help
Thanks for tagging it for staff help, I’m subscriber to both threads, so whichever one you meant I will see it when they help.

If this comes up in the future, where there is a legitimate need to continue a time-locked thread, if staff post to the thread, it will be reopened for posting (the month clock resets).
I didn’t actually know that myself. So there you go, learned something new.
