How do I report a bug to wordpress.com?

I found a small issue when using the New Post widget on the WP landing page where you can lose your post and not have it save anywhere.

Basically I failed to select one of my blogs from the drop down on the “What would you like to post” page and then saved the post as a draft. It didn’t save to any of my blogs appears to have been lost. I have quite a few blogs and checked them all, but the post is not to be found anywhere. I didn’t see a warning when I clicked “save” that i didn’t have a blog selected.

I’d like to let WP people know about this and was wondering if there was a way to submit bugs. If not, that’s okay. I’m sure they’ll fix it eventually.

And perhaps in the end it isn’t a bug at all.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It sounds like a long time bug

I have flagged this for the staff

  • Howdy,

I can’t duplicate this yet, so I appreciate your patience.

Here’s what I tried, please tell me where we differ:

    1. Visit http://wordpress.com
    2. Click New Post at the top right.
    3. Did not select a post, selected Text
    4. Typed a bit and clicked Publish Post

In my case, it gave me an error message (though I admit, not very helpful and a bug in itself): https://cloudup.com/clDjP5rCHiw

    Thanks again!

I can’t actually duplicate my error either, since the system now remembers my last known “To blog:” and I can’t blank that drop down out like it appeared the first time I used it.

I don’t remember seeing an error when I first did it, but since I can’t get back to the default state, I can’t prove it. It might have shown that at the top and I navigated away without realizing it.

Looks like this is probably a one-time error for someone since once they pick a blog the error can’t happen again.

Thanks for looking into it for me.
    Rae
