how do I repost an old blog entry?
-
I’ve read some blog posts about blogging and came across the term ‘reposting’
Basically, shuffling the deck so to speak. I would like to repost some of my old material but I have no idea how to go about it.
Can someone please help me? :(The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You basically have three options. Not all are equally good, but I include all for you to choose for yourself:
1) Change the post’s publication date. Edit the post and set it to draft. Change the publication date of the post to a new date. Republish the post. However, this will cause broken links if anyone had ever linked to that post in the past, as this changes the post’s permalink.
2) Reblog. If you have reblogs enabled you can reblog your own posts. The reblogged post will have a short excerpt and a link to the original post, and you’ll have the chance to add your own comment that will appear at the top of the reblog. This is the simplest way, but if you ever decide to disable reblogs on your site all previously reblogged posts will go blank, containing only the comment you added.
3) Create a new post linking to the old post. If you use the Press This button on the old post it creates a new post with a link to the old post (but no excerpt like with a reblog), and then you just add whatever comment or introduction you like. If your theme supports the Link Post Format, select that. That way if someone clicks on the post title in the Reader or on your home page, they get taken directly to the old post instead.
I’d recommend #3 over #2, but it’s a matter of personal preference. Pick whichever works best for you.

If you just want to move an older Post to the top of the front page for a few days, make it a “Sticky Post” and it will move to the top of the heap
In the Update / Publish box one of the options is to make a Post sticky
