How do I reset a password when I have lost the email address associated with it?

Hi, I’ve lost the username and password for a WP.com blog that I built for a friend a couple of months ago, and none of mine or their email addresses are working. I absolutely don’t know what I did, but as I built the site I can give any details needed to verify my identity as its creator; I think I need to speak to someone at WordPress.com but don’t know how to do this. If it were on a self-hosted blog it would be easy but now it isn’t. Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

    Hey there,

To protect our user’s privacy, we require one of the following pieces of information to disclose information associated with our accounts, including credentials:

    1) An email from the email address originally associated with the account
    2) The API key from the WordPress.com welcome email
    3) A Paypal transaction ID number associated with the WordPress.com account

If you have any of the above information, please email support [at] wordpress [dot] com and provide the information and the blog URL, and we’ll help you get things recovered.

If you don’t have the above information, I’m afraid we won’t be able to be of assistance.

    Best,
    P.
