How do I reset the theme page to get the default, but not lose my info?

    I think I broke it.
Contact page would not let me edit, and now it is gone.
    Also a widget is gone.
I want them back, and not lose all the work I have done so far.
When I tried to edit the contact page, it sent my contact info to my e-mail.
So if I reload the theme, does the default come back with the info I have there?
    Also missing a widget.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

Contact page would not let me edit, and now it is gone.

Your Contact page is in trash, as indicated by its URL: https://tishwebberwow.wordpress.com/contact__trashed/. You may restore it from trash. See the Trash support page, including its Restoring from Trash section.

    Also a widget is gone.

WordPress.com widgets can be replaced from the available widgets, or (at least at the WP Admin Widgets page) from the inactive widget area.

So if I reload the theme, does the default come back with the info I have there?

No, reloading the theme won’t accomplish that. I presume by “reloading,” you mean switching to another theme and then switching back to the present them.

What were you trying to edit on the Contact page, and what happened when you tried to make edits?

  • Looks like you’ve gotten pretty far with your site setup so I wouldn’t recommend either starting over from scratch or having us run the Headstart script which adds dummy content.

For your contact page, you can go two ways:

    – You can restore your old contact page from the trash as musicdoc1 suggested above.
    – You could create a new contact page. If you go this route, you’ll need to go into your custom menu and remove the Contact item that’s there now, since it points to your deleted page. Then add a new menu item for your new page.

For your widget that disappeared, as musicdoc1 said, you can go into your WP Admin dashboard’s Widgets page, and scroll down to Inactive Widgets:

    https://tishwebberwow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php

I see one inactive widget: Links. You can drag it from the inactive area up into one of the theme’s widget areas.

Let us know how it goes.
