HOW DO I RESIGN FROM WORD PRESS AND GET A REFUND?

I’m too busy and perhaps stupid to work WP. I’ve built websites but never have I come up with anything as complicated as this. For about $300 all I’ve had so far is indecision. I’ve already paid a fee and when I go to a tutorial I get a smiling face saying they can walk me through this in no time: it turns out to be someone or a company wanting to do this for another fee. I just want out and find something much more simple where I can blog and not be required to become a geek.

I see a couple of upgrades in your account on two different sites, but I’m not seeing a $300 charge anywhere. Are you having a specific problem I can help you with?

When I signed up with Word Press last fall, I paid for two search engines that accounted for the first two hundred dollars; they were Yahoo and Google. Shortly after this my C drive crashed and I haven’t looked for my backed up mail which has the specific costs: I actually had to have the crashed drive info retrieved ($599) and yes I realise that isn’t the fault of Word Press.
I’m not having a specific problem; it’s more of a general one. Word Press is too much of a learning curve for me; I’m too busy doing research. Syed from WPBeginner has sent me 69 emails telling me how I can improve my site; to me that’s starting to sound complicated. When I ask for a tutorial I get someone from another company (?) who says they can do a wonderful job for me. Enough; I think it better to have my account cancelled and suck up what I paid for the search engines. Please send me confirmation that when the present account has expired you will not renew the account.
I seemed to think that by paying your fee and two major engines all I had to do was pick a site name, do the editorials and you’d spit it out all over the world.Reticently Yours

It sounds like you were scammed by folks not related to WordPress.COM. It cost’s you nothing to register with search engines. I get the search engine register scam emails all the time, they really sound like in a panic and my search engine traffic will die if I don’t pay up and on and on. But careful reading of the email shows it was written by a very skilled lawyer to make their scam legal
WpBeginner is not connected to WordPress.COM to my knowledge. Don’t know anything about them but sounds like a scam. WordPress.COM would not send you 69 or so emails. They don’t have any hand holding services other than the help forum here.

Please send me confirmation that when the present account has expired you will not renew the account.
Most of the charges you outline did not come from WordPress.com, but you do have two upgrades set to auto renew. You can turn off auto renew by clicking the “Disable Auto Renew” link below each of your upgrades on the page below.

I also would like to know, how can I get refund this money (99$). They were charged from me without any additional notification, this really looks like cheating. Okay, I tryed to understand how to build blog, but I spent many days for nothing. I want just writing blog and I dont want to go through so many complications. I cannot understand anything, very user unfriendly interface, also I cannot find where I can write and get a help, only found this forum. Help please….

The mystery continues I didn’t even know I had the site listed below; actually I did know but didn’t know why!!!!!!!!!!! That’s also why I’m surprised that I paid $129 for something that I didn’t realise I asked for and please can you tell me why I have it? I only wanted the site with the ‘Blue Dot’ (bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com)
I haven’t even done a blog on advancelateralinnovationsdotcom.wordpress.com yet. I’ve done one blog on, ‘ bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com’: never mind the rest, this is going nowhere. You say you don’t know about these $99 charges people are receiving trying to get to you: I think it is in your best interest and mine to find out.I suppose you want to deal with refund enquiries privately so this forum thread doesn’t get too long which sounds like a viable possibility.

Happy to help you with the charges in this thread. Just to recap, you have four sites on your account:

Charges: NoneIt sounds like the main goal is to prevent future charges. As a result, I have disabled automatic renewal for the Premium bundle. You will not be charged automatically for this going forward. It will expire automatically and get removed from your account.
For the domain bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com, would you still like to keep that domain and use it? Otherwise, I will disable automatic renewal there as well so you do not get charged. Please note, if you decide you do not want to renew the domain, someone else may purchase it making it unavailable for you to use later on.

I don’t know why I have so many sites; all I wanted was bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com and I wish it was the premium; is that possible? I haven’t even used it once, is there any chance today could be the beginning of, bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com, get rid of the rest and I’ll go ahead with it as a premium site. If you can and will then if I can get it running like I want, I’ll renew it on an annual basis. I assume premium means something effective and that’s what I want. I have some very important information I want issued and noticed by as many as possible.

Not a problem! I disabled all sites from your account with the exception of johnbernardsite.wordpress.com (bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com). I then moved the Premium bundle to that site. Going forward, you’ll only have one site on your account and one upgrade to renew (C$129.00 a year). You can see that upgrade here:

As far as what is included in the Premium bundle, some of the major elements are as follows:
– 10GB of extra storage (upload more photos, videos, and audio without hitting a limit)
– Upload audio and videos straight to your site
– Customize the colors and fonts on your site
– Domain registration (your domain bluedotandscientistsneedhelp.com is included with the bundle)
The removal of the extraneous sites should help to clean up your account just a bit. Can you take a look around and see if the setup will be alright moving forward?
