How do I resolve problems with GoDaddy?

I bought a package of domains and hosting from GoDaddy. I made a start in building pages but when I try and view those pages I am directed to the GoDaddy ‘you’ve registered your domain’ page, which leads me on to another page that tells me my domains are active but requests even more money than the £130 I’ve already paid to set up web hosting. Haven’t I got that already with you? And if so why do I need it from them as well?

I’ve tried several ways to contact them but can get no answer at all and have made an attempt to cancel their services. I found them overly expensive and totally uncooperative

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have to sort this out with GoDaddy. WordPress.com has nothing to do with GoDaddy.

A “whois” search for http://londoncabdriverhistory.com says that that URL does not exist. How long ago did you purchase the hosting and domain name from them?

    1. You can have a blog here, and point and map your domain name to your blog here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ .

    2. You can install and configure a WordPress installation of your own on GoDaddy hosting and transfer your content over from your site here to that new installation: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org .

See this document for the differences between WordPress.com sites and WordPress.org sites.

Thanks very much for your ultra-quick response. I actually cancelled the order with GoDaddy about a half hour ago, so I would assume that because I wasn’t able to activate it, it hadn’t actually been acquired and that’s why it doesn’t exist.

I hadn’t at the time bought any web hosting from them and was not pleased when they wanted extra for it after taking a substantial sum from me for the purchase of the domain names and . Of course web hosting doesn’t come free but they were getting enough from me as it was. Now, hopefully no money has gone to GoDaddy. It was not at all clear on their site what the relationship was between WordPress and them, if any.

I will obtain some domain names elsewhere and use the option 1 you list here for the blog I have set up, as I have paid for one of the higher grade packages.

To save me looking right now, does WordPress supply web hosting?

Thanks again for your advice, which inspires confidence in me with WordPress.

Option # 1 above by @TSP has you hosted here at WordPress.COM – the Domain Mapping is $ 13.– / year per domain name
