How do I restore my Google calendar?
-
My embedded Google Calendar which I have had working well on both my wordpress sites for months, will now not display at all on either. I have replaced the code several times but this does not fix the problem.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Currently, I’m receiving an error message on your Special Events page here:
http://kangarawatersresidents.org/notices/special-events/
The error message displayed is as follows:
Events from one or more calendars could not be shown here because you do not have the permission to view them.
Can you be sure you have set your calendar to public as explained here?
Also, on your sidebar, it looks like you just have a link back to your calendar page within the Upcoming Events widget instead of the calendar feed URL. Can you try setting it up with the instructions found here?

Hi Jeremey, Thank you for your excellent support. Main problem was not having Public ticked. All OK now. I have also deleted the unused widget. On the same embedded Google calendar, the default “Display” is “Agenda” but the embedded code on wordpress is giving me, “Month”. This was working correctly some months ago but something has changed. Maybe you can help me with this too, even if it is a Google problem? I really do appreciate the support of WordPress engineers.

Hi!
To fix this, you’ll need to adjust the embed code before adding it to your WordPress.com blog. You can do this by clicking the link for “Customize the color, size, and other options” under option #3 here:
Here’s a screenshot of the link:
You’ll be taken to a separate page here:
Just change the default view to “Agenda” and that will update the embed code you need to paste into your site. Alternatively, you should just be able to update the embed code by changing “mode” to Agenda. Here’s an example:
[googleapps domain="www" dir="calendar/embed" query="mode=WEEK&height=600&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&src=EMAIL%40gmail.com&color=%232952A3&ctz=America%2FNew_York" width="800" height="600" /]The above is the Week mode (notice mode=Week).
Here’s the switch for Agenda:
[googleapps domain="www" dir="calendar/embed" query="mode=AGENDA&height=600&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&src=EMAIL%40gmail.com&color=%232952A3&ctz=America%2FNew_York" width="800" height="600" /]Let me know if you have any trouble!

Hi Jeremey, thanks for your help on the default display for google calendar. That’s fine now.
Since working on google calendar this week, I have developed another problem. I can create new entries on calendar but they are not being embedded on the 2 wordpress web sites. Other editing of settings, border colour, etc. are but not new entries. Please can you help me a 3rd. time?

Hi!
When I add an event to the calendar that is embedded into my test blog and then refresh the blog page, the calendar event is automatically added. A few follow-up questions:
Are you experiencing this issue with the calendar embedded into a page and a widget or just one or the other?
Can you make sure the event is set to public? When you try to edit an event, you’ll see a separate privacy setting at the bottom of the edit screen. You should be fine setting this to either “Default” or “Public”.

The google calendar is embedded into a wordpress page. Calendar displays all edits on line to google, but these edits are not being embedded on my two wordpress web sites.

Hi there,
Can you point me to the page and site where you have a calendar embedded and let me know of a change that you’ve published to the embedded Google calendar that is not appearing on your WordPress.com blog?

Hi!
When I open the calendar embedded on that page in Google Calendars (off of WordPress.com), I don’t see the event you mention either. Can you confirm the following?
1. That you are adding the event to the correct calendar (a no-brainer, but just checking!)
2. The event is public

Hi Jeremey,
I think you have led me to the cause of my problem. My Calendar edits were sometimes going to a second disused calendar as well as the one viewed on screen, and the code for embedding to wordpress was sometimes linking the incorrect calendar. I have deleted both calendars and have started again. All OK now. ThanK You. BobH37 -
Not a problem! I’m glad we were able to get this resolved. Please let me know if you need anything else!
