How do I restore my original font size?

  • Unknown's avatar

My fonts. including those of my tags, have suddenly become miniscule. I did not change them. I have cleared cache and cookies. How can I restore the original font size so that those whom I direct to my blog can actually read them?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see that in your sidebar on the Home page only. I tagged this thread for Staff attention. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  • Hi there, our theme developers have checked, and there have been no changes to the theme you’re using in quite some time – in fact, the theme is now retired.

Could you please try resetting your browser’s default zoom in the Firefox menu under View > Zoom > Reset. Let me know if this solves the issue, thanks!

    @kathrynwp
Good day to you. I’m posting to let you know that the theme on the blog was Simpla when I viewed it and confirmed what I saw above was the same thing the blogger reported. It has now been changed to Silver is the New Black.

  • Thanks, timethief! That is very helpful.

covinabob – since I can’t see this issue on my test site with Simpla, would you mind switching your own site back to Simpla so I can investigate further?

You can also try the zoom reset trick I mentioned earlier to see if it helps.

    Kathryn,

Thanks for your follow-up. What I have done is to see how the blog is rendered in three other browsers (Safari, Opera, and Chrome—Firefox is my default browser, and I have long-since gotten rid of IE). Same result, with the exception that in Opera changed font is slightly larger and appears to be double spaced. The problem of font size is not confined to the sidebar. Text for blog posts of April 28, April 13, December 27, 2012, December 9, 2012, and November 7, 2012, are also in some very small serif font (Times New Roman?). I don’t have time to fool with this template, so I looked for similar ones. I liked Greyzed, but the sidebar is on the left (I prefer it to be on the right). I settled on Silver is the New Black, so at this point I think that I’d rather switch than fight, so to speak.

  • Hi Bob, thanks for switching your site back to Simpla.

It looks like there was some stray code in your May 20, 2013, post that was causing a font problem. I removed it, and it looks like that may have solved the problem.

Would you mind having another look and let me know if that did it? You may need to refresh the site in your browser. Thanks!

    Kathryn,

Fantastic! I won’t ask what you did or why it worked, but I am extremely grateful. I was reconsidering my decision to move to a Pro (Premium?) WordPress account one day soon, but you just won me back. Thanks very much for your help.

    Bob

  • My total pleasure! Happy blogging. :-)
