How do I retrieve a saved draft?
-
I have saved a draft and I just cannot find it. When I tried to continue working on my draft I found out that the changes that I have made weren’t saved at all which is really silly. I have saved the draft then wanted to continue what I was writing, only to find out that it was not saved.
my blog is http://www.travelholicgirl.com and the article’s name is Been Away, Coming BaCk soon.
Will truly appreciate your quick response. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
Sorry to hear that you’re having some issues!
To edit your drafts, they will be listed under Posts in your dashboard, then selecting the ‘Drafts’ tab. The changes you make to any post should be saved when you hit ‘save draft’ option. Make sure you see ‘Post draft updated. Preview post’ after saving to be sure that things really have been saved.
One way to check back on drafts that you might have lost is the ‘Revisions’ feature. This shows you all of the saved versions of a post since it was created. You can find these by selecting ‘Browse’ next to the ‘Revisions’ text on the right hand side when editing a post. There’s a direct link to the previous versions of the ‘Been Away’ post here:

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey there,
thank you for your quick response.
In fact I have checked those before submitting my question, the problem is that wordpress apparently did not save my work, it saved the old version as it is without making any changes. Isn’t there any way to retrieve it??? -
Does this mean that my draft is gone forever???
Would appreciate a quick response.Thank you.

Hiya,
I’m afraid that if the draft isn’t in the ‘revisions’ option, then that means that the changes you made must not have saved correctly. This can happen because of a temporary loss of connection to the site, or because of a browser error. That means the draft can’t be recovered.
If you let me know what some of the changes would have been – like an excerpt from the text, then I can double check through the revisions menu to see if it’s been missed.
Let me know,
thanks

the weird thing is that before i save the draft, i was asked if i am sure that i wanna save the changes that i have made. And I said yes, but it wasn’t saved!!!
the only words that i remember is “my very existence” -
Hi there,
I’ve had a look, and there’s definitely not a draft saved on that post with those words. I’m afraid that it looks like this time something has gone wrong, and it hasn’t saved correctly. This can happen for a variety of reasons, like those I mentioned with the browser temporarily losing connection, and means that we can’t diagnose it in retrospect. For the next few drafts, if you can confirm that they’ve saved correctly by going back into the post immediately after, then we can work out if it was a one time thing, or a persisting problem.
Let me know if you have any other questions
