How do I return the navigation tabs to a custom header in the twentyten theme

Hi-
I am working on a new blog in wordpress.com and currently utalizing the twentyten theme.
I created a custom header and changed the picture in the header. Since doing so the navigation tabs that were originally found as default in the header have dissapeared.
Is there a way to return them to the page… additionally how do I ensure they appear on all future pages.
Please help! Thanks so much.

I checked http://myswimschool.net/ and it is currently using the Selecta theme.
For the Twenty Ten theme, try checking the Appearance → Menus page to make sure a proper menu is setup there if you have added one to the primary navigation option. See this help page for more info:
