How do I revert to original background design on Adelle?

  • Unknown's avatar

I tried out some alternative background designs, but like their original better. I just can’t find it in the “custom design” section.

  • Hi there, could you please let me know which site you’re referring to, since it looks like you have about a dozen? Thanks!

Sorry, the way it listed my question I thought that information was included.

    Thank you!

  • No worries. :-) I removed your custom background and reset your background colour to white, and the default background image is once again showing.

Just let me know if you need anything else.

Golly, that was IMPRESSIVE! Kind of like when the support tech takes over your computer remotely. THANK YOU!!

May I ask a follow up question? I’m having a hard time understanding how Custom Design will help me when I don’t want to change much – just bought it so I could increase font size, and that’s not working (or I can’t figure it out). Help?

  • My pleasure :-)

There are a couple of ways to change font size, depending on which part of the text you’re trying to modify.

You can change the size of body text – the main part of your posts and pages – by changing this number from 2 to something else:

You can get to this page by going to Appearance > Customize > Fonts:

    https://theinternationalprincessclubdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php

The number 3 would give you a slightly larger size, 1 slightly smaller.

If you want to change the size of something other than body text, you can use CSS code. In order to do that, you’ll need to find the name of the element (class or ID) you’re trying to change, and apply some CSS to it.

Most of our CSS support is done in our community forums by both staff and volunteers:

OK, thank you! Two follow up questions. One, how can I find out what the name is of the default font for the theme I am using? I searched their site, my dashboard and options from there as well as Google and couldn’t figure it out. It would help because you have to change the font in order to change the size (which makes no sense to me).

Secondly, when you change the “body text” font, it doesn’t just change the size of the text in the body, it resizes the whole layout. Is there anyway not to do this?

p.s. I’d really like to know if there is a way to adjust font size without upgrading to custom design, since it hasn’t been any help to me so far.

The default font is Museo Sans, as you can see here:

Actually, you don’t need to change the font to change the size – you can just specify a size.

Secondly, when you change the “body text” font, it doesn’t just change the size of the text in the body, it resizes the whole layout. Is there anyway not to do this?

Yes, it’s possible by using some CSS code. The exact code you’d need depends on exactly which part of the text you want to change.

To get help with the specific code, I’d encourage you to post in the forum I mentioned earlier:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

p.s. I’d really like to know if there is a way to adjust font size without upgrading to custom design, since it hasn’t been any help to me so far.

Tweaks to font size are only possible with the Custom Design upgrade.

Our CSS customization forum has many wonderful volunteers who give lots of their time – I bet one of them will be happy to help you out if you provide a link to your site and details about exactly what you’re trying to change. :-)
