How do I route two different versions of my blog to one domain?
-
Hi there,
I currently have two different versions of my blog (www.douchbagmagnet.wordpress.com and http://www.douchebagmagnet.com) online. I purchased the domain name douchbagmagnet.com off of GoDaddy to replace the douchebagmagnet.wordpress.com domain name, but it’s not redirecting to the douchbagmagnet.wordpress.com site. How do I have my wordpress blog show up under the douchebagmagnet.com domain name, but show the douchebagmagnet.wordpress.com blog? I’ve redirected the nameservers already. Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=douchebagmagnet.comPlease go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMFor more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:

Thank you for the help. I’ve updated accordingly, now I can’t get my douchebagmagnet.com site to sync up with my wordpress.com blog. How do I know that the custom records I’m adding are correct? I’ve tried several different versions and don’t know where I’m going wrong. Thanks!!

I am seeing douchebagmagnet.com point correctly to your WordPress.com site.
It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.
Also douchebagmagnet.com was not set as your WordPress.com site’s primary domain. I have switched that for you and the URL should now display correctly. For future reference, you can change or update your primary domain by logging into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and going to Store–>Domains.
Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
Also, here’s to better luck with the dating pool. It does make for entertaining reading for the rest of us though, I’ll completely admit that.

Thank you so much for fixing it. I’m not the most technologically savvy person out there and unfortunately, I end up screwing more things up when I try to figure it out myself! I appreciate the well wishes with the dating scene, but I’m pretty sure that as long as I’m in AZ, this is what my love life will be like. At least it makes for an interesting read, right? :) Thank you again for all of your help!!

That’s AZ for you!
But yes, it makes for interesting stories.
Have a great weekend and thanks for using WordPress.com.
