How do I search for a charge in a different currency?

  • Unknown's avatar

I had two charges made to my card on for £11 (sterling) each – the system only seems to allow me to search in US$. They won’t be for my own account, but could be for any of a number of client accounts, and I need to know which clients in order to bill them. How do I go about tracing the accounts these payments relate to? Many thanks.

  • Hi there,

Where exactly are you searching for the transactions? Transaction details are only visible to upgrade owners in the billing history section of their account settings, and can’t be accessed by anyone else.

If you’re using the search form on wpchrg.com, that form is intended to help upgrade owners verify suspicious charges on their accounts, and the currency should be correct based on the IP address of the person searching/logged in on that particular browser. That form wasn’t designed to allow third-parties look up upgrades belonging to other accounts, and we don’t have any option to do that.

If you set up sites for clients on WordPress.com, I suggest you rather have them pay for any upgrades to their sites themselves, as you also are not able to manage or cancel upgrades belonging to another account, even if you’re the one paying for them – only the username that owns an upgrade can manage it on WordPress.com.
