How do I see who shared my posts on social media?
-
I think I may have shot myself in the foot here on my first blog giveaway. I stipulated that to enter the giveaway, readers had to either leave a comment below, newly subscribe to the blog, or share the post on social media. Well the post has received 5 shares on social media, but I can’t see who shared it…. I just assumed you could do this, but I have looked and looked and I can’t figure it out. Is there any way to see who shared my post on facebook and twitter so I can enter them in the draw?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no way to get that information; if they shared the post, have them send you the tweet or a screenshot of the FB share.

But how would I contact them to tell them that? The point is I don’t even know who shared the post, so I am unable to contact them.

Well, what I’d do basically is not tell them and pick a winner from a commenter or subscriber and then in future NOT use the share.
Alternately, you can ask them to share it on social media using a particular hashtag. You can track hashtags, as long as the posts are set to be visible to the Public. Even if someone has their privacy on FB turned to max, they can change it for one post, set to public, publish it, and then change the default settings back to private. You can track that by searching on FB for your hashtag. Same for G+ or Twitter.
