How do I set a Getty image as the featured image for a post?
-
I see from the following webpage that it’s possible to insert Getty images into blog posts.
Since I use the Twenty Fourteen Theme, it makes more sense to use “Set Featured Image” than to insert the image into the post.
However, I don’t see a way to specify a Getty image. Am I missing something, or is this not allowed?

Your webpage contains the same content as the webpage that I provided in my original query. It explains how to insert a Getty image into a blog post. It doesn’t explain how to set a Getty image as the featured image.

Aha! I’m so sorry I missed that. It’s a no can do. Featured images must be uploaded into your Media Library.

I was stupid. The featured image words were in the thread title but I had so many tabs open and the phone was ringing so I missed it. :(

Depending on how much you want the images, Getty DOES make them available to bloggers for uploading at a price that is much reduced from what they charge major media organizations. It is, however, about $300 per month from what I recall.

I wish you could have heard the sound I made when I saw $300. I’m sure you would have found it very entertaining.
Thanks!
Tottering off in shock.

It’s Getty. Their images are the best in the world, and they know it. It’s a business; that’s why the embeds they allow for free are limited.
