how do i set the first image in the post to be the default featured image?
-
I imported my blog from tumblr, and would like the first photo from each post to be the featured image default. The photos were taken years ago, and I don’t have access to the photo files anymore to upload them to wordpress in order to set the featured image manually.
thank you!

Hi Hannah! You can select images from the media library without having to re-upload them, so if you’re willing, I’d recommend going through and specifying images that way. You can see a list here:

I also want to say some of our older themes can automatically display the first image for you, so while they don’t set it as a featured image necessarily, the blog display page would show something. They wouldn’t include the site editing features, but they may work for your case. Let us know if you’d like us to help you look into those.
