How do I set up the site so that people who Comment go on an Alert list for new posts?

  How do I set up “friends” who get an alert whenever I make a new post. I mean, OTHER THAN FACEBOOK, which I know how to do. I dont want to renew till I get this figured out.

  To do this, your friends will need to “Follow” you:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/

  By following you, WordPress.com readers can read your blog in their Reader, and also choose how to receive notifcations over email for your posts and comments (instantly, daily, or weekly.)

  Non-WordPress.com readers can also follow your blog by instant email.
