How do I show photos in my Post Summarys?
-
I’d like more visual tease on my main page — here is an example of a similar blog with the look I want:
http://www.pilates-pro.com/pilates-pro/2007/10/16/facts-on-feet.htmlI haven’t been able to figure out how to get photos to show in my summaries — or is it that I just should use the summary feature?
Thanks for helping the newbie!

http://effortlessmovement.wordpress.com/ is what that address is resolving to. (You must be doing domain redirection and not domain mapping.)
You have to put the photo before the more tag in order for it to show.

Excerpts work in the Blix theme, so that would be a good option for you. Easier than the more-tag because you can customize exactly what you want to display in the excerpt without worrying about formatting problems. Copy the html for the images and paste, still in html mode, to the excerpt.

Sweeet — looks awesome on my blog! thank you! Funny thing though — now wordpress is NOT showing on my LinkedIn profile. Is it a coincidence, or do the pics in the excerpts mess with LinkedIn?

Not sure what you have done but the sidebar is at the bottom now. Check out this for possible causes http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/05/30/why-is-my-sidebar-at-the-bottom-of-my-posts/

huh, I missed that the sidebar had moved, thanks for the heads up. All I did was:
Copy the html for the images and paste, still in html mode, to the excerpt. Will see what I can do about that. More concerned about LinkedIn though — I want the blog to show up with pics there as a draw for my personal training business….

I think the two problems are related. Fix the sidebar and the LinkedIn thing (which was in the sidebar) should come back.
-
On second thought – maybe not. I don’t see the LinkedIn stuff when I look at your page source. Nor do I see it on the individual pages.

lol — that just occurred to me too :) Gotta go wrap some presents. thanks for your help!

Sometimes sidebar widget code has a hard-coded width and that breaks the issue. You can sift through the code if you want to try to remove it and keep the actual INFO in the widget.

@effortlessmovement: Re your sidebar problem, go to the post editor for “From Joe’s lips” and remove the opening “div” (along with its brackets) from the Excerpt.
