How do I show several blog posts on the front / home page?
-
I just started using WordPress today for the first time. I created a new blog: westseattleraingardens.com. I’m using the teplate Twenty Ten. Maybe I’m using the wrong template to do this, but I simply want to see all the blog posts displayed on the front page, one above the other, as shown in this blog: http://ballardraingardengue.wordpress.com/. Is that possibl with the Twenty Ten template?
Currently, if I add a new post, it only shows the new post and the previous post is put into the right column. How can I change this so that all–or at least several–posts all are displayed on the home page? I appreciate your help!

You only have one published post. Once you publish additional posts, they will appear on your front page.

I appeciate your quick response, and I know my question probably sounds like a dumb one–but I’ll try to explain this more clearly… When I type in my next post, it doesn’t add to the existing or prevous post–it replaces it entirely and pushes the earlier post into the right column. This might just be how this particular template works, but I was hoping there would be a string of posts all appearing one beneath the other, as shown in the http://ballardraingardengue.wordpress.com/ blog.

I took a look and I see all the post listed underneath each other. Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you, kardotim, but when you say that you see the posts all listed one beneath the other, I think you’re referring to the Ballard blog, not the one I just created for West Seattle. The Ballard site is what I’m trying to emulate, so yes, that one is appearing correctly. It’s mine that is not appearing correctly (per the original queston I posed).
In any case, I have given up on the original question. I think the answer / problem is that I chose the wrong template if I want these posts to appear one beneath the other on the home page.
I’m still waiting to hear back from WordPress support because this would be a simple question to answer in less than five minutes, but I don’t think I’ll hear back from them.
If anyone out there uses the Twenty Ten template, I would appreciate hearing back from you regarding if there is a way to make that template do what I want it to do. In the meantime, I’m moved the blog to “private” status while it’s under construction. I may need to completely start over and experiment with a variety of templates.

Hi there,
Are you referring to the http://westseattleraingardens.com/ blog? If so, as macmanx mentioned earlier, you still only have 1 post. Once you publish another one, they will all appear on the home page.
Just want to point out that macmanx, kardotim and myself are WordPress.com staff, so you did hear from WordPress support :)
Hope that helps and please let us know if there’s anything else we can do

Thanks much for your responses – duh, I now realize you are staff and apologize that I said I hadn’t heard back. In fact, you’ve been very responsive, thank you.
Yes, I’m referring to http://westseattleraingardens.com/. That is my blog.
I feel like I’m still not describing this in a way that is understandable, though. I’ll try one more time.
See how on the Ballard blog http://ballardraingardengue.wordpress.com/, the posts appear one beneath the other in the main part of the page / in the left column?
I just added a second post to my blog so you can see my problem. In my blog, when I add a second post, it features that one on the page and I don’t see the other one anymore–unless I go to a different page. I want to see the KIRO post below the new Test post. Yes, I can see them both listed in the right column, but that’s not what I mean. I want to see the full content of both posts on the home page, one below the other.
As I add new posts, I want them to line up, one after the other, like on the Ballard site. Is that possible with the template that I’m using?
If not, can you tell me what the name of the template is that the Ballard site is using and I’ll just switch to that one? Thanks so much!

I see exactly what you’re describing at http://westseattleraingardens.com/
The first post is “Test Post” followed by “Featured on KOMO May 20, 2012”
Are you not seeing both posts at http://westseattleraingardens.com/ ?

OK, tell me that you adjusted a setting, because otherwise I’m losing my mind. Which is entirely possible.
Seriously, I’ve been trying to get it to appear this way with adding and deleting test posts and it wouldn’t do it. I don’t know why it’s working now, but am not going to question it–I’m just going to be thankful!
I appreciate your help–the problem seems to be resolved.

I didn’t change anything, just visited your blog.
If you ever notice that again, try clearing your browser’s cache.
