How do I show summaries of each month's archives?

Because my posts are < 2,000 words and include links to short videos, I only want the current post displayed on the home page. However, I want the Archives widget when I click on the previous month (I post weekly and just began 5 weeks ago.) to display the summaries of all the posts. Right now it only displays one post’s summary.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Unfortunately, the “Blog pages show at most” setting (found in Settings > Reading) is a global setting. You have it currently set to display 1 post per page, and that is why your archive pages only show one post at a time.

One thing you may want to try as a workaround is to use the Archives Shortcode to create a custom archive page that you can link to in your sidebar. This would replace the Archives widget that you currently are using.

Learn more about it here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Jerry, thank you for the help. [archives] doesn’t have exactly what I want right now, but it’s great to know it’s there. I may use it.

    Thanks,
    Matthew
