How do I show word count for my entries?

  • Unknown's avatar

I can’t find out how to add a word count box to my entry. How do I find out how many words are in each entry?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Use the classic editor to get a word count display
Dashboard > Posts > Add New

How do I get to the dashboard? And I added widgets to my page and saved them, but they don’t show up in my sidebar. Why not?

I added widgets to my page and saved them, but they don’t show up in my sidebar. Why not?

I see two of your widgets showing on the right sidebar and the rest in your footer below. Your archives widget is not showing because you have a condition on it: Show > if date is > all date archive. Play with the visibility settings to see if you can get the widget to appear.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Thank you!! I managed to get those things straightened out but I still have an error on my Facebook page link. When I hold shift and click on the name of the Facebook page, I’m taken right to it, but there’s a red text message under the name that says it’s not a valid Facebook page. :? I copied it from the URL bar on the front page of my page.

Thanks so much for your help,
    Carol

  • Hi there,

but there’s a red text message under the name that says it’s not a valid Facebook page. :?

I checked and you’re getting that invalid error because you created a Facebook personal profile and not an actual Facebook page. You will need a valid Facebook page in order to utilize the widget.

Thanks… I guess I don’t mind the warning because clicking on the name of the page actually works. I just didn’t understand why the warning if it worked! LOL

Many thanks… I won’t bug you again! I have tried searching through the Forum and the tutorials, but didn’t find my answers so had to call on someone for help.

    Regards and glad you’re here…
    Carol

Well, since you’ve been so helpful so far — I wonder if you can tell me where to find instructions for adding a comment link/bar to my page. I don’t know how people who read my diary/blog can comment and have the comment show up on the page. So far, my friends have been commenting on FaceBook, but I’d prefer they be able to post a comment after they’ve read my post.

Well, I found that the comment bar is there on my page (duh!) but the comments people make aren’t showing up. Or do I look for them somewhere else?? Is there a way to have them show up directly after the entry? BTW, love the photo of your son… congratulations!!

  • Hey Carol!

Although you can not see the comments on the blog home page (just the link to the comments), our post comments are displayed when you click on the post:

    NOMOJO DAY 8

However, you can show the latest comments on the blog home page by adding the recent comments widget to the sidebar if you wish.

Thank you, by the way! =)
