How do I sign in WP with the domain I purchased through Godaddy.com?

Okay so I recently activated a new domain and the first thing I did was sign in my CP to Install WordPress. Once this was done I confirmed it was my email and moved on to login WP. I noticed right away my domain was changed too xxxxx.wordpress.com which is not the one I purchased on Godaddy. I tried to find on wordpress but was told to map it for $13 Why do I need to map it when I owned it?

you need to map it because you just purchased the ‘ownership’ of the custom domain but that doesn’t include hosting it persay.
mapping it allows you to be able to switch your xxxx.wordpress.com ‘blog’ to your custom/purchased domain.
depending on who you purchased it from, they may have hosting plans on their site – which you can then redirect it to wordpress but that costs $$$ too I believe.

if you purchased your domain through wordpress, you should be able to go into your settings – domains – and switch your primary domain to your customized URL
